- Show internal location as logical location: Useful for animal
searches and the main screen. If an animal has left the shelter (or
is dead), instead of showing the last known internal location, you
will be shown the logical location. This is useful in (all location)
searches, as you can see immediately whether an animal is on the shelter,
and if so, where.
- Group the animal figures report by species instead of type:
This causes the monthly animal figures report to separate animals
by their species instead of their type (ie. By what they are instead
of what the shelter classifies them as).
- Hide original owner information when printing animal records:
Some shelters like to use the print animal report as a cage card,
since it contains every piece of info about the animal. However, with
the original owner information on there, unscrupulous people could
try to ``reclaim'' animals they want to adopt by posing as the original
owner. This option hides the original owner and brought in by information.
- Highlight animals under 6 months, reserved or dead on reports:
Setting this option will cause any report that displays an animal's
name to highlight it if the animal is under 6 months old, reserved
or dead. Animals under six months are shown in blue italics, dead
animals are shown in red and reserved animals are shown in bold. This
allows you to quickly highlight puppies/kittens and reserved animals
on inventories etc. This option only applies to the built in reports,
and not custom reports that you add to the system.
- Don't filter the list of breeds according to selected species:
Normally, ASM will filter the list of breeds when you change species.
Breeds are mapped to a single species (or available to all species)
through the System->Lookups->Breed Mappings screen. If you enable
this option, ASM will just show all breeds and allow you to select
one, regardless of the selected species. Up until version 2.6.0, ASM
did not filter the list of breeds and this was the default behaviour.
- When adding animals, show most popular breeds at the top of
the dropdown: Setting this option will have ASM track the most popular
breeds your shelter deals with and put them at the top of the breed
list when adding new animals. It incurs a small performance penalty
and is disabled by default.
- Don't show media thumbnails on animal or owner screens: Setting
this option prevents ASM displaying thumbnail images on the detail
pages of the animal and owner screens. This can improve performance
slightly on slower database connections.
- When printing reports, don't scale to match page width: Normally,
when printing reports, ASM will try and scale them to match the width
of the paper. Turning this option on tells ASM not to do that and
allows you to manually set the width of your reports via HTML tags.
