The Nevada Society for the Provention of Cruelty to Animals, Inc., ("Nevada SPCA") A non-profit organization, operates a no-kill animal shelter, promotes humane education, makes referrals for lower-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services, and challenges people to be the best possible guardians for the companion animals in their care. The Nevada SPCA Foster Care Program is for animals that are not immediately adoptable. This includes kitten and puppies that are too young to be put up for adoption, animals with injuries that simply need time to recover, and mothers with litters that need to be together until the babies are weaned(“FosterAnimals”). Foster parent volunteers are needed to take care of these Foster Animals for a specific amount of time, providing the daily care, feeding, and administration of any needed medicine during that period. The Foster Animals remain the property of the Nevada SPCA, and when the animal(s) are ready for adoption, they are brought back to the Nevada SPCA for adoption.
