ASM 2 is the previous generation of Animal Shelter Manager. It's Java based and designed to run on your desktop. It has installers for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X 10.4+, various Linux distributions and a web bundle containing an applet for hosting providers that allow external access to MySQL databases.
ASM 2 has been frozen in maintenance mode since April, 2012. No new features will be added to it and it has been superceded by ASM 3, which has many new improvements and is much friendlier to use.

Double click the installer executable to install.
Download the application tarball. Open it and drag the ASM application
to your Applications folder.
Debian package for Ubuntu and other Debian-based distributions.
Open and install the package. Our repository will be automatically added
to your sources for automatic updating.
Tarball containing cross-platform Java binaries for Linux, FreeBSD
and other Java-enabled UNIX machines.
Unpack the zip file. Instructions are supplied on how to install
to your webserver and setup your database.
